On the 19^th July 2013, the Leo Club of Wesley Methodist School organized their 11^th Annual Leo Installation, jointly with the slogan, “Let The New Roars Be Heard” at the Chapel of Wesley Methodist School. The induction of new members and installation of BOD members for the fiscal year of 2013-2014 was held with great success followed by interesting performances. The event started at 3.30pm and ended at 5.30pm.

After all the formalities, the event was followed by the induction of Leo members and installation of the Board of Directors for the fiscal year 2013-2014. Then, more performances were followed. The meeting was adjourned at around 5.00 pm and guests were invited for a photography session and refreshments.

July 9) Leo Club of SMK BU3 IU Night @ Talent Night

At 6.30pm, the audiences were invited to seat down on their respective places. After the arrival of Guest of Honor, the emcees start the show by a very interesting opening speech.
          After the opening ceremony by the guest of honor, the event was then preceded to the singing of national anthem and Leo pledge. At 7.30pm, dinner was served. There were many kinds of local foods like fried rice, steamed fish, desserts and so on. After about half an hour, the search for BU3 Talent begins.
          All the performers prepared well and they managed to shock the crowd. Everyone was satisfied with the performances. In order to choose the winner, everyone was given a voting slip to vote for their favourite act.
           After the lucky draw, the winner was announced. Shaun Lee who sang a country song has won the BU3 Got Talent of year 2013. Everyone went home with a small gift prepared by the club and also a smile on their faces.

July 8) Appreciating Hard Work 1.0

       At 12.00 pm, the Leos of the Leo Club of SMK Damansara Jaya assembled at the lobby of One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya before proceeding into the Cinnamon Coffee House. Lion Clarence and Puan Ng Yoke Chan, the teacher advisor of the club were waiting there with wide smiles.

       At 12.30 pm, the buffet lunch started and the Leos and adults went to get their food. They sat down and talked while eating. At first, they talked about all things casual. They soon reached the topic that is Leo. Lion Clarence discussed some possible projects to be held in the near future. The Leos told him about their ideas and Lion Clarence and Puan Ng helped to improve them.

       At 3.00 pm, everyone was full and happy. Lion Clarence then presented Leo Tee Ke Hui with a token of appreciation from the Lions Club of Petaling Jaya for her hard work and everlasting spirit.
        At 4.00 pm, the event adjourned and they went back home with a satisfied stomach and higher spirits.

Remarks from Organizing Chairperson : 

1) This event was truly interesting as we get to bond with one another very   effectively at the same time share our mutual interests in Leo.

2) The Leos benefited from this event as they obtained many fresh ideas from Lion Clarence and Puan Ng Yoke Chan.

July 7) Merdeka Celebration - Flag Hanging

Participants of project ‘Merdeka Celebration - Flag Hanging’ discussed and agreed by club advisor before carrying out the project. National Flags were sponsored by the school and the project was carried out. Flags were hanged around SMK Damansara Jaya’s Leo Pond as decorations of Malaysia’s National Day celebration and we hope through this we can encouragement the students of SMK Damansara Jaya to be more patriotic.

          On the 12^th July 2013, the Leo members arrived at 1.30pm to register themselves to. At 2.00pm the meeting was called to order by Leo Katrina Lim. The national anthem was played and the Leo pledge was recited by the Leo members.
           Then, each club did their roll calls. Next, speeches were given by the Immediate Past President, Leo Katrina Lim, Sponsoring Lions Club of Petaling Jaya President, Lion Ronnie Wong and the Principal of SMK (P) Petaling respectively. Then, it was the induction of new members by the Sponsoring Lions Clun of Petaling Jaya President, Lion Ronnie Wong. Next, the Incoming President and Board of Directors were installed by Sponsoring Lions Club of Petaling Jaya President, Lion Ronnie Wong.
            After that, President Leo Koh Yi Ning gave her speech ad awards and appreciation certificates were presented by their Leo Advisor, Lion Ronnie Wong. There were a few exciting performances by the members of Leo club of SMK (P) Taman Petaling before presenting souvenirs to everyone who attended the installations.
             Lastly, the meeting was adjourned by President Leo Koh Yi Ning. Refreshments were served after that.

At 7pm, the guest arrives into the hall. After having a few chats among each other, the event was then started with dinner. The dinner is in buffet style and they served mostly famous Indian food. After half an hour, the event was then preceded with the installation of Board of Directors of fiscal year 2013-2014. After that, a few certificates and awards were given to the committed Lions. The event was held successfully and everyone was satisfied with the food, the seating and arrangement. Everyone went home with a smile on their face.

           Members arrived at 4.00pm at Royal Selangor Club, Bukit Kiara for preparation and rehearsals.

          At 6.30pm, all members and guests registered and took their seats in the hall and light refreshments were served.

          The event started at 7.00pm with an opening performance by Leo Tee Ke Hui. Meeting was called to order by outgoing president, Leo Lor Jia Yang, followed by the national anthem, flag salutation, Leo pledge and the recognition of Lions and Leos. Leo Lor Jia Yang delivered his speech. It was followed by a speech by Lion Ronnie Wong, President of Lions Club of Petaling Jaya, and Organizing Chairperson, Leo Loo Yuin Teng to deliver her welcome speech.

          At 7.30pm, it was time for the highlight of the event, which was the induction of the incoming members and the installation of the incoming Board of Directors of the fiscal year 2013/2014. After the incoming president, Leo Solomon Tneo delivered his speech, the presentation of certificates to the outgoing members was presented.

          Dinner was then served at 8.30pm. a buffet of variety had everyone’s tummy feeling happy. The food was splendid. Performance and entertainment went on during the dinner as it felt like having a night at a bistro. Performances by Leo Lim Zheng Bing and his band started the performance with the latest hits from the music charts, followed by a group performance by Leo Lee Poe Wun, Leo Shaun Ong and Leo Michael Sean David were they sung songs from the slow country and pop genre. The first round of lucky draw went on. After that, performance by Leo Jonathan Pang Yi and Leo Brenda Chow were they both performed 3 songs from the 80s and the latest hits. With a little surprise, Leo Solomon Tneo performed and showed his talent in a solo performance. Second round of lucky draw went on where the top 3 prizes were drawn.

          At 9.30pm, a video presentation was displayed and the long waited performance, by the incoming Board of Directors went on and brought a huge round of humour, joy and touching scenes. A fellowship was followed where Lions, Leos, teacher advisor and guests strut on the dance floor, which was called “footloose”.

          The event ended at 10.00pm where Leo Solomon Tneo adjourned the meeting and marked it the start of the new fiscal year for the Leo Club of SMK Damansara Jaya followed by a photo taking session with representatives from other clubs, guests and among the Leos.          Members stayed back after the event to clean up everything. It was definitely a remarkable and an evening to remember.

Remarks from Organizing Chairperson :

·        All of us gained experience in organizing and preparing for such a major and meaningful event.

·        Representatives from each of the clubs had the opportunity to meet each other and converse among themselves.

·        Although the event was a little messy, we are all still proud because we manage to put up a successful and meaningful event.

·        Everyone got along and enjoyed themselves.

On the 27^th of June, Leo Tee Ke Hui had recruited her team of members to commence work in preparing the 200-page thick report. This report will be submitted to JPS in efforts to obtain the Best Club title in the whole of Petaling Utama district. Leo Foo Sher Ming designed the cover using a sophisticated graphic designing software while Leo Chan Pei Ling handed Leo Tee Ke Ran the entire compilation of MAARs, PARs and KOKU files as well as photographs from the club’s activities. Then, they started editing the reports and compiling everything into the report. Leo Tee Ke Ran and Leo Tee Ke Hui even stayed up till 2.00 am and 4.00 am respectively to complete everything. The report was sent for printing and submitted to JPS.
