Leo Club of SMKDJ would like to invite you to our 2014 Blood Drive this coming 14th of September, held in cooperation with Pusat Darah Negara (PDN) at the 1st floor of Tropicana City Mall (infront Papa's Cafe)!
WHY SHOULD I DONATE BLOOD?
Safe blood saves lives and improves health. Blood transfusion is needed for:
1) Women with complications of pregnancy, such as ectopic pregnancies and haemorrhage before, during or after childbirth;
2) Children with severe anaemia often resulting from malaria or malnutrition;
3) People with severe trauma following accidents; and many surgical and cancer patients.
It is also needed for regular transfusions for people with conditions such as thalassaemia and sickle cell disease and is used to make products such as clotting factors for people with haemophilia. There is a constant need for regular blood supply because blood can be stored for only a limited time before use. Regular blood donations by a sufficient number of healthy people is needed to ensure that safe blood will be available whenever and wherever it is needed. Blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person — the gift of life. A decision to donate your blood can save a life, or even several if your blood is separated into its components — red cells, platelets and plasma — which can be used individually for patients with specific conditions.

Next, due to hot weather and no proper care because of our examination, the plants in our Leo Garden wilt a little. The organizing chairperson of the Leo Garden project, Leo Ng Coshyn, decided to trim the wilted part of the plants and add more fertilizers into the plants so that the plant will grow well.

In order to make sure the pond is 100%clean; Leo Solomon Tneo again decided to carry out Leo Pond Cleaning 2. This time, in order to build up more committed and active Leo members, he decided to ask the 4 Leo members to join him for this project.
On the morning of 31 August 2013, the participant arrives to school with full of spirit, our Leo advisor was also there to help us, he thought us how to clean the filter and all the precaution we should know before cleaning the pond. Unfortunately, there was no water due to water disruption. Luckily our school has a huge water storage tank so we manage to finish our project successfully.
2 Days later, the Leo pond finally became clean and clear. The school praised our commitment and hard work.
