On the 21 August 2013, the Leo Club of SMK Damansara Jaya cleaned the school’s leo pond. Unfortunately, the pond wasn’t clean enough after one week, this is because the pond was too dirty in the beginning that we cannot see what is inside the pond.
In order to make sure the pond is 100%
clean; Leo Solomon Tneo again decided to carry out Leo Pond Cleaning 2. This time, in order to build up more committed and active Leo members, he decided to ask the 4 Leo members to join him for this project.
On the morning of 31 August 2013, the participant arrives to school with full of spirit, our Leo advisor was also there to help us, he thought us how to clean the filter and all the precaution we should know before cleaning the pond. Unfortunately, there was no water due to water disruption. Luckily our school has a huge water storage tank so we manage to finish our project successfully.
2 Days later, the Leo pond finally became clean and clear. The school praised our commitment and hard work.

Throughout the workshop, the tutors had given out numerous useful tips, notes and exercises not found in the classrooms. As they were all Form 4 students, they also shared experiences on ways to answer specific questions along with encouragement. We had received many positive feedback from the participants of the workshop as they found the project a productive and useful one.

All in all, the Leo club of SMK Damansara Jaya is glad to be able to help the Form 3 students in their upcoming PMR examination. As this is the last year the PMR examination is going to be held, we hope that the last badge of PMR candidates the best of luck.

September 4) Gloat with the Tote

Date : 1 August 2013 to 10 September 2013
Venue : SMK Damansara Jaya
Organizing Chairperson : Leo Kate Poon Wai Kay

This project was carried out to raise funds for the Leo Club. A few of the members and I came up with the idea of selling tote bags as the tote bags are a trend among students especially for girls. First and foremost, we planned and searched for information before hand. We gathered ideas, looked up for contacts and bargained with the supplier forbest prices. We looked for the most appropriate and suitable designs. Then, we collected the stocks and send it for printing. We gave out flyers for all the classes in the morning sessions and had spread the word even to other schools. We collected the money before giving out the bags. Students were happy and satisfied with the product. Overall, it was a successful event as everything went well as planned.
