Volunteering @ Zoo Negara
During your childhood years, have you ever once made up your little mind to become a zookeeper when you grow up? or maybe wish that you can be Tarzan or George of the jungle because they have friends that you and i can only dream of having to communicate and play with instead of worrying they'll bite off your head?
cutting to the point~
raise your hands those who are interested and willing to volunteer at the Zoo Negara! this is however only open to form4s and older~ apparently younger ages arent trusted not to drive the animals crazy~
for now the tentative date set is the 15th of December. the date can be changed to suit everyone's preferences, but we need people before we can decide anything.
for further information, check out Zoo Negara's volunteer page: http://www.zoonegara.org.my/volunteerprogram.html
please poke Sabrina @ 013 3303419 or email her @ sabrina_purplemoon@hotmail.com by the 10th of December.
and hey, it's not like we have anything much to do at home during the holidays. i mean how many hours spent watching TV, playing games or surfing the net can you take? unless you're overseas or outstation or working that is. if you dont get out and do something worthwhile during the hols, you're gonna age faster.
that said, lets get ourselves up from the sofa/bed/wherever you're glued to during the hols xD

it's been a while!
hey all! it's been a while, hasnt it? ^^ to all those reading this now, i think it's safe to say we survived the horror of final exams, so a round of applause for us weary soldiers! only now we have to face the horror of getting our results... okay, ignore that last bit. think happy thoughts!
haha, right, now we currently have one more project to wrap up before the holidays start~
a visit to the SPCA!!
date: 14th November, Saturday
time: 9am-12pm (actually you only have to be there latest 10am, but we should be there at least half-an-hour before to group and get a briefing)
unfortunately, you'd have to find your own way there so here's a map to guide you:
we'll be getting down and dirty doing the standard tasks, feeding, cleaning, etc~ i know a lot of us are much to lazy to get out of the house these days, but if you have never been to the SPCA, or handled a pet, now's the chance ^^
however we cant be having twenty, thirty of us storming the place all at once~ so we're only allowed 15 spots :D we encourage Leos to go and you have the priority, but we're not restricting it only to club members~ non-Leos are always welcomed, just as long we have the slots ^^
i know it's only 2-3 hours. but those precious minutes makes all the difference.
if you'd like to go, just drop me (ah, it's chris lim here btw) an email at lim.chris@gmail.com~ just a simple "hey, SPCA- i want in" will do, as long as you include your name and contact number xDwell that's all the updates for now! till next time~

YESSS!! PMR is FINALLY OVER!! Form3s, REJOICE!
yes yes, to all form3s, congrats on surviving PMR ;) whereas form4s and form5s could only recall wistfully the freedom of the rest of the year when it was their time.
well, just for general knowledge, the form4 and form5 (?) exams will be next week and would last till the first week of november, to much dismay. but on a happier note, exams will be over at some point! xD
we take this oppurtunity to wish those with upcoming exams the best of luck (many would need all the luck they could get xD) and to form3s, enjoy the remaining time you have for this year, but dont go too overboard! and since you're quite free now, do take part in more Leo events and keep the club active!
cheerios!

NKF visit , walkathon & LLC 2009!
hey all! sorry for the lack of updates owing to the fact i (Chris Lim here xD) was missing in action for some time ^^" my apologies.
anyhow, it's now the raya month and the middle of september, and the number of projects has decreased, due to the upcoming PMR examinations.
however, we still have the National Kidney Foundation visit that was postponed from the 19th to the 26th so hopefully more leos would be willing enough to attend on that date. we'll be going over to play games, sing, tell stories... basically to entertain and interact with the patients there and brighten up their day :) if you're interested, call Leo Krish, the organizing chairperson for this project, at 012-6361023.
not to forget, the walkathon (walk for a greener tomorrow) organized by the Leo Club of Monash University. it's not just limited to leos, so anyone and everyone can join!
to those who are confirmed attending, Leo Pui Cheng has already emailed the participating forms to you and you are required to pay the RM15 to PC during the holidays.
anyone else who is interested, poke Pui Cheng ^^
and the next BIG Leo event is the Leo Leadership Camp 2009! Details are as follows:
Venue: Kem Bina Semangat, Ampang Pecah Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor
(it's still in selangor so you dont have to worry about the distance between you and your family/girlfriends/boyfriends xD not to worry, transport is provided by the PJIs from our school)
Date: 21st November to 26th November 2009
(it's a 6 days, 5 nights camp. it may seem long to you now, but wait til after ;] )
Participating Fees: RM260 /-
(inclusive of transport fees. if you're complaining how expensive it is, i would like to add that without sponsorship, it would be rm140 more)
Activities: Flying Fox; Rapelling; Rafting; Jungle Trekking; Obstacle Course; Kayaking ... and more
(spells F-U-N xD)
of course, there are application forms to fill out, plus a medical form, and all payment by cheque are to be made payable to LIONS CLUB OF PETALING JAYA
For those forms and the camp details (as to what to bring, the schedule, all you need to know) email Pui Cheng (puicheng134@hotmail.com) or any other BODs. i suggest you make up your minds fast as there are only 15 places for each Leo Club (there will be 4 attending in total)
so that's about it for this time ^^ do stay tuned for more updates!
and to round up this post, we would like to wish all our Malay friends
and to non-Malays, especially form3s, happy studying xDD
