           Members arrived at 4.00pm at Royal Selangor Club, Bukit Kiara for preparation and rehearsals.

          At 6.30pm, all members and guests registered and took their seats in the hall and light refreshments were served.

          The event started at 7.00pm with an opening performance by Leo Tee Ke Hui. Meeting was called to order by outgoing president, Leo Lor Jia Yang, followed by the national anthem, flag salutation, Leo pledge and the recognition of Lions and Leos. Leo Lor Jia Yang delivered his speech. It was followed by a speech by Lion Ronnie Wong, President of Lions Club of Petaling Jaya, and Organizing Chairperson, Leo Loo Yuin Teng to deliver her welcome speech.

          At 7.30pm, it was time for the highlight of the event, which was the induction of the incoming members and the installation of the incoming Board of Directors of the fiscal year 2013/2014. After the incoming president, Leo Solomon Tneo delivered his speech, the presentation of certificates to the outgoing members was presented.

          Dinner was then served at 8.30pm. a buffet of variety had everyone’s tummy feeling happy. The food was splendid. Performance and entertainment went on during the dinner as it felt like having a night at a bistro. Performances by Leo Lim Zheng Bing and his band started the performance with the latest hits from the music charts, followed by a group performance by Leo Lee Poe Wun, Leo Shaun Ong and Leo Michael Sean David were they sung songs from the slow country and pop genre. The first round of lucky draw went on. After that, performance by Leo Jonathan Pang Yi and Leo Brenda Chow were they both performed 3 songs from the 80s and the latest hits. With a little surprise, Leo Solomon Tneo performed and showed his talent in a solo performance. Second round of lucky draw went on where the top 3 prizes were drawn.

          At 9.30pm, a video presentation was displayed and the long waited performance, by the incoming Board of Directors went on and brought a huge round of humour, joy and touching scenes. A fellowship was followed where Lions, Leos, teacher advisor and guests strut on the dance floor, which was called “footloose”.

          The event ended at 10.00pm where Leo Solomon Tneo adjourned the meeting and marked it the start of the new fiscal year for the Leo Club of SMK Damansara Jaya followed by a photo taking session with representatives from other clubs, guests and among the Leos.          Members stayed back after the event to clean up everything. It was definitely a remarkable and an evening to remember.

Remarks from Organizing Chairperson :

·        All of us gained experience in organizing and preparing for such a major and meaningful event.

·        Representatives from each of the clubs had the opportunity to meet each other and converse among themselves.

·        Although the event was a little messy, we are all still proud because we manage to put up a successful and meaningful event.

·        Everyone got along and enjoyed themselves.
